Alright, so, those of us who play a paladin know that there are 3 types of judgments available to us: Judgment of Light, Wisdom, and Justice.
Judgment of Justice is your bread and butter pvp judgment, as it limits peoples movement speed, making it easier to catch up to people. It is also useful for questing in that it prevents mobs from running away - this is especially useful if you don't have the talent pursuit of justice.
Now, that leaves us with our 2 other Judgments, Light and Wisdom. In a raid setting, it is very handy do have both of these judgments active on a boss mob at once. This way your tanks and dps are both getting heals, and regaining wisdom. But, the question becomes then of what paladin should be using what judgment. Based on research, and experience, here is where your priority lies:
Prot Paladin: Should be Judging Wisdom. Why? Because if you are going balls out with your multi-mob threat abilities, you will be burning a lot of mana. Having an additional way to get mana is always useful, as Spiritual Attunement only goes so far sometimes.
Holy Paladin: Should be Judging Wisdom. Why? You might think that they should be judging light because they have the highest spellpower of all the paladin types. While true, they should be prioritizing their judgments lower than the rest of their healing abilites. Ideally, they should only be judging every 20 or so seconds just to keep the judgment refreshed, and gain Judgments of the Pure which lasts for a full minute anyway. Also, not judging light gives them the benefit of reducing their overhealing.
Ret Paladin: Should be Judging Light. Why? The judgment spell is a crucial part of the retribution rotation. A good ret paladin will be judging almost every time the spell is up (every 8 seconds talented, 7 with the 4pc tier 7 set). Judging that often ensures that it is constantly refreshed, meaning there will always be the added healing on a target, and when a ret paladin judges, they also give themselves and the raid replenishment (yet another good reason to be judging all the time.
Now, if you don't have a Ret Paladin available to you, the Holy Paladin should then be using Judgment of Light to help keep everyone up.
I hope people find this useful. And when I'm fighting bosses, I don't want to not see both kind of judgments on a boss, especially since this is Paladin Defense League.
